COMMERCIAL RESTAURANT BACKSPLASH 17' x 8' September 2001 This large mosaic was made for Cameron Mitchell's newest restaurant, Molly Woo's and can be seen at the Polaris Fashion place mall in Columbus, Ohio. The piece was comissioned to serve as a backsplash for the sushi bar that is the center of the restaurant. Great efforts were taken to match the style to traditional Japanese prints in color and composition. The mural represents bamboo blowing in the wind with the Japanese Konji characters for "sushi" in the upper right hand corner. The mosaic takes up 130 sq. feet and is composed of 3/4" colored glass mosaic tiles. The mural was assembled off site over the course of a month while the installation took 2 days.
