GLASS MOSAIC DRAGON TABLE 42" July 2001 This illustration-based mosaic table top is composed of colored glass mosaic tiles. It was constructed using the reverse technique to achieve a flat serving surface. It was assembled upside down using water based glue, then flipped and secured to the table surface before grouting. The dark brown grout was chosen to accent the color palette of the tiles and to highlight detail. The wood trim was sanded and hand painted before the table was finished off with six coats of lacquer to seal and protect it.
